GAUR: a method to detect Sybil groups in peer-to-peer overlays
نویسندگان
چکیده
Sybil attack is an important problem as the peer-to-peer networks grow in size and become prominent means for distributing multimedia. In order to validate the feasibility of using psychometric tests as an approach to detect Sybils in their entirety as Sybil groups, experiment is conducted by taking the tests on a population of considerable size. Selected people were given multiple questionnaires corresponding to multiple identities in the network. The survey data is analysed using DBSCAN clustering algorithm using several metrics. The results show that 75% of the Sybil groups were detected with 67% completeness.

A Sybilproof Indirect Reciprocity Mechanism for Peer-to-Peer Networks
Although direct reciprocity (Tit-for-Tat) contribution systems have been successful in reducing freeloading in peerto-peer overlays, it has been shown that, unless the contribution network is dense, they tend to be slow (or may even fail) to converge [1]. On the other hand, current indirect reciprocity mechanisms based on reputation systems tend to be susceptible to Sybil attacks, peer slander ...
متن کاملProtecting the Tor network from Sybil attacks Talk proposal
The Tor network is periodically subject to Sybil attacks. Most of these attacks were not carefully executed and Tor directory authority operators were quick to detect and block the malignant relays. However, the Tor network lacks sophisticated tools to detect and protect against Sybil attacks. As a result, more advanced attacks could remain undetected. While there is a large body of work dedica...

متن کاملRater Errors among Peer-Assessors: Applying the Many-Facet Rasch Measurement Model
In this study, the researcher used the many-facet Rasch measurement model (MFRM) to detect two pervasive rater errors among peer-assessors rating EFL essays. The researcher also compared the ratings of peer-assessors to those of teacher assessors to gain a clearer understanding of the ratings of peer-assessors. To that end, the researcher used a fully crossed design in which all peer-assessors ...
متن کاملThe Significance of Peer-Editing in Teaching Writing to EFL Students
This study set out to investigate the effect of peer- editing as a metacognitive strategy on the development of writing. It was hypothesized that peer-editing could be used to raise grammatical and compositional awareness of the learners. Forty pre-intermediate sophomores at Islamic Azad University-Tabriz Branch participated in the study, taking the course Writing I. To warrant the initial homo...
